Today in the Moba market you can find projects for every taste: classics of the genre, endless less successful clones and even … bold amazing experiments. This is how the company positions its new creation Sparkypants Studios.
For the past six months, the game has been at the ZBT stage, but now, with the support of the famous gaming publishing house GameForge , changed its status to “early access” and switched to a conditionally paying model of distribution. Gambling could not ignore such an interesting event and already managed to feel the game. And now we are in a hurry to share details with you!
Not very long ago, in a not very distant, comprehensive galaxy

According to the plot of the game, humanity was so mired in military conflicts that by the XXII century it completely exhausted its energy reserves and now depends on the rare resource from the satellite of Jupiter – European. And here is the culprit of the conflict.
In this conflict, we were assigned the role of a captain who can take from one to one to three characters. All heroes are divided into classes, each with their unique mechanics and a set of talents.
You can’t call the plot of the game to the rich, but the crumbs of additional information about the world can be found in the descriptions of the characters themselves.
There are four classes in the game: “Tank”, soldier, engineer and call. "Tanks" – the most massive, with strong armor and powerful weapons of near -fighting. As a rule, on the front line, they take on all the damage. Soldiers are distinguished by the average indicator of armor and long -range weapons. Well, engineers are standard healers. The attacks are weak, like armor, and skills are mainly aimed at repairing and supporting the detachment.
There is still a callist – a hybrid of all other classes. He fights close to distant distances and heals himself at some modifications. But it is best to call turlies and exploding small robots. It is very useful if you need to capture the point, restrain the enemy or retreat with the whole team.
At first there are four characters, one for each class. The rest can be opened either for game gold, or for real money.
The talents in the classes of the same type are similar, all the differences are mainly visual. Additionally, the skills and capabilities of units are affected by the mild customization of the furs. For participation in battles, you can get boxes. Of these, spare parts and schemes for our machines randomly fall out.
All furs have both individual, spare parts intended only for them, and general ones – for classes and all tanks in general. Castamization changes not only skills, ultrasound and character improvements, but also his appearance.

Well, one cannot fail to note the global visual component. The project has excellent artists with a great sense of style. As for the main mechanics of Dropzone, it is as simple as the plot tie. And we can take under our command the entire detachment of three units, and the game will immediately turn into an unusual hybrid RTS and Moba.
It happens that during the match additional tasks are given: to destroy two bosses, to capture all viewing points, to kill the nine representatives of Alfa-Vida Kavash, to destroy the hero of the enemy team and so on. Here, my partner and I decided to sentenced the boss and get a short small bonus to the damage.
This is just one of the main problems of the game: it differs from the classic moba only by the number of characters under the control of the player. And so that the hybrid project MOBA+RTS does not overload gamers from the very first minutes, mechanics are simplified, the maps are reduced, the number of units is reduced, the ability to bring the camera closer to the camera is disconnected. The threshold of entering the game is reduced.
This attracts an inexperienced audience, and it follows the path of least resistance: it simply ignores unique mechanics and delegates the management of the detachment to other players or AI. Because it’s more fun and easier.
The “infection” mode is still in the alpha stage, but now it’s clear that a large card and lack of an increase do not allow them to enjoy. As a result – sketch: "How the main thing we have lost".
As Moba Dropzone is very good, but, unfortunately, there is no comparison with the giants of the market ( Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm or League of Legends). It is well suited for those who, for one reason or another, have no place in more heavy projects. Surprisingly, the developers, instead of developing a successful regime – expand and complicate maps, increase the detachment, improve mechanics, and emphasize controversial hybridges. And you don’t have to go far for confirmation of this theory, just look at the work of the matchmaking: finding players for a group race is much easier than looking for a dueling opponent for yourself.

Foggy future
On the other hand, the project is still far from the final stage. And I want to believe that for the allotted time, developers will be able to decide on their target audience, with what is interesting and in what modes people play more often. Then we get a really high -quality and competitive product.
While the enemy is trying to charge the reactor, we are already preparing an orbital blow to their position. At such moments, the game really gives pleasure.
Additionally, we note that the project is actively supporting. While we played, there was not a day without any update. Recall that now in the development there are cooperative modes of stripping, tournaments for sixteen players and the new “infection” mode-it can already be tested in alpha version.
The first few minutes of the match is a serious struggle for beacons that open a review on the map, especially if such a task is listed in the teams for additional purposes.
For now, we see a tasteful game with a promising Moba-component, but boring and uncomfortable RTS mechanic. But what happens in the end, only time will show.
